গৌড়মতি আম (Gauromati Mango), বর্তমান সময়ে বাংলাদেশের একটি জনপ্রিয় আমের জাত। এটি দেশি জাতের আমের মধ্যে সবচাইতে নাবি জাতের আম। আমের জাতটি খুজে পান অধিদপ্তরের কর্মকর্তারা প্রাচীন গৌড় রাজ্যের সোনা মসজিদ এলাকায়। এটি নাবি জাতের আম। ডিম্বাকৃতি এই আমটি আগস্টের তৃতীয় সপ্তাহ থেকে সেপ্টেম্বরের মাঝামাঝি সময় পর্যন্ত সংগ্রহ করা যায়। ধারণা করা হয়, আশ্বিনা এবং ল্যাংড়া জাতের প্রাকৃ তিক পরাগায়ণের মাধ্যমে এই জাতটির সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।

গৌড়মতি আম, বাংলার প্রাচীন জনপদ সেই গৌড় অঞ্চলে এক মূল্যবান রত্নের সন্ধান পাওয়া গেছে। এই রত্নটি হচ্ছে অম্ল মধুর এক আম। ফজলী, খিরসাপাত, ল্যাংড়া এমনকি সুমিষ্ট আম্রপালিকেও এই আমটি হার মানিয়েছে। এতদিন আড়ালে-আবডালে থাকলেও এখন তার মতিগতি জানার পর কদর বেড়ে গেছে। আর নাম দেয়া হয়েছে ‘গৌড়মতি’। গৌড় অঞ্চল থেকে ‘গৌড়’ আর মূল্যবান রত্নসম্ভার ‘মতি’ শব্দ দু’টি নিয়ে নামকরণ করা হয়েছে। মাঠপর্যায়ে গৌড়মতি আম ছড়িয়ে দেয়ার জন্যে সংশ্লিষ্ট কতৃপক্ষ কাজ চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে। এরই মধ্যে গৌড় অঞ্চলের গৌড়মতি দেশের বিভিন্ন জেলায় ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। যশোর, মাগুরাসহ বিভিন্ন হর্টিকালচার সেন্টারে এর চারা বিক্রি হচ্ছে।
ফজলীর মিষ্টতার পরিমাণ হচ্ছে ১৭.৫, ল্যাংড়ার মিষ্টতার পরিমাণ হচ্ছে ১৯.৭ আর আম্রপালির মিষ্টতার পরিমাণ হচ্ছে ২৩ শতাংশ। কিন্তু গৌড়মতি এদের চেয়ে এগিয়ে রয়েছে। এর মিষ্টতার পরিমাণ ২৫ শতাংশ।

A precious gem has been found in the Gaur region, the ancient town of Bengal. This gem is a mango with sour honey. Fazli, khirsapat, langra and even the sweet amrapali, this mango has won. Although he has been hidden for so long, now after knowing his opinion, the value has increased. And the name is given as ‘Gauromati’. Named after the two words ‘Gau’ from the Gaur region and ‘Moti’ for precious gems. The concerned authorities are continuing to work to spread Gauromati mango at the field level. In the meantime, Gouromoti of Gaur region has spread to different districts of the country. Its seedlings are being sold in various horticulture centers including Jessore, Magura.
The sweetness of Fazli is 17.5, the sweetness of Langra is 19.7 and the sweetness of amrapali is 23 percent. But Gaurmati is ahead of them. Its sweetness is 25 percent.
